Recently, the use of aromatherapy has gained much popularity in the United States. In England there are 25 schools that are dedicated to studying the properties of these substances.

Bach Flowers

Dr. Edward Bach was born in 1886 in a village near Birmingham, England called Moseley. He was so friendly, loving and with a good sense of humor. He loved nature and outdoor play. His dream was to find a cure for every disease and heal people as Jesus did.

When Bach was 20, decided to become a doctor. In 1912, he graduated from University Hospital Birmingham. Two years later he received another degree in Health in Cambridge.

While studying his medical career, Bach began to notice that there was a relationship between disease and the patient’s emotional state. He observed that people with the same disease and similar personality responded well to a certain remedy, while people with the same disease but different personality, no. Based on these observations, Dr. Bach concluded that one should not treat the disease but the patient.

Dr. Bach believed that some flowers could change the negative emotions of the person such as fears, phobias and hatred of courage and love. By achieving this, the flowers might cure the cause of the disease. (more…)

Acupressure, also known as acupressure has been used to relieve pain for more than three thousand years in China and Japan. Today, this technique has gained much popularity in the West also.

Ayurveda means “science of life” and has its emphasis on treating not only physical symptoms but the whole individual, body, spirit, emotions and mind. The Ayurveda has its greatest popularity in the rural areas of India. But today, also in the west is increasing every day use.

Fundamental ideas of ayurveda:

The three doshas: According to Ayurveda, all beings are formed of three life forces or basic elements, kapha, vata and vitta. These three elements, also known as “doshas” control our physical and mental processes. When these three forces are in balance, the individual is healthy. When there is some imbalance, then the individual becomes ill.

According to ayurveda, each person has all three doshas but one that predominates. The predominant dosha defines the physical characteristics of the individual, metabolism, emotions and lifestyle. (more…)
