failure kenedyWash the blood or dialysis is a process undertaken to replace the task of healthy kidneys. As we have seen, the kidneys play a role that is vital for our body functions to filter and remove the remains of metabolism and excess fluid, chemical balance in the body and maintain blood pressure. This procedure was adopted as kidney damage has reached 85-90 percent or “Terminal Renal Failure” in which the kidneys can no longer function as before.

There are two kinds of dialysis, namely hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. Principle, the process of dialysis, blood will flow out of the body and filtered. Then the blood is filtered channeled back into the body. In hemodialysis, the process of screening carried out by a dialysis machine, called the dialysis membrane. This type of dialysis is often committed in Indonesia. While on peritoneal dialysis, the patient’s own body tissue part of the abdomen (stomach) is used as a filter. Dialysis is usually done 2-3 times a week for each of 4-5 hours each time the process. (more…)
